Work has begun on our magnificent copper beech tree near the historic Repton Manor.
The tree is over a century old and stands proudly next to the ancient manor house, which has parts dating back to the medieval times.
To preserve both the tree and the manor, a root barrier is being installed that will prevent any damage to the building's foundations. The work taking place today is to trim the tree's crown by a small amount to keep it healthy and balanced.
Thanks to everyone who helped campaign to save this significant piece of nature.
