Another Day, More Play!

Ashford Borough Council Opens New Play Area and Outdoor Gym in Park Farm

Residents celebrated the opening of a brand new play area and outdoor gym in Park Farm, with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The Mayor of Ashford, Councillor Jenny Webb, joined by other council members and local residents, officially inaugurated the £400,000 project, which is part of the council’s £1.1m Play Regeneration Programme.

Central Park offers a variety of play equipment for children of all ages and abilities, including an all-inclusive flush roundabout, a multi tower multiplay unit, swings, a sensory play zone and more. It also features a new outdoor gym area with equipment for strength, balance, stability and agility training. The project also includes new seating, wheelchair friendly picnic tables and landscaping.

The project was supported by the Park Farm Playground Project Group, a local community group that campaigned for the improvement of the play area. The group also contributed £10,000 towards the project from fundraising events and donations.

Central Park is open to the public from dawn to dusk every day. For more information about the Play Regeneration Programme and other play areas in Ashford, visit
