Ashford Borough Council and Stagecoach South East have announced a 12-month reprieve for the G-route bus service which was due to be withdrawn in April.

Following a series of high-level talks, the authority has pledged financial support to enable the service to continue operating for another year from 19 April, albeit at a reduced frequency of one bus an hour, compared to the current 30 minute frequency.

The G-route serves Godinton Park and Repton Park linking it to Orbital Park via Bank Street in the town centre, the railway station, Newtown and South Willesborough.

A second chance for the G Line is great news for residents in Repton Park where many rely on this service to access work, school and services. I encourage people to use the bus as often as possible to help secure it's future.

Cllr Matthew Forest
Ward Member for Repton
